She is the child of Harvey Welker, a Native American Father along with Julie Welker, an African American Mother. The father of the family is an engineer while her mother is an agent. Walker completed her studies at Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown district in the year 1994. She attended Harvard College, where she obtained a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker is married to John Hughes a well-known marketing director for Merck at Philadelphia and they have two children. In 2014 the couple began to have an affair.
