Lucy-Liu
Lucy Liu was born in the United States. She is an American singer, actress and voice-over artist. As an intelligent and attractive actress, she serves as a role-model for numerous Asian actors in Hollywood who wish to make it big. An early string of success roles in a popular TV show led to her becoming famous for joining the cast of Ally McBeal, where she appeared as Ling Woo. After a sudden surge in fame, the actress landed roles on big screens like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. Her performance was outstanding in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino. At the same time she was also in box office failures, including Rise: Blood Hunter. After that, she started to sing prominent characters for animated films like Kung Fu Panda. Mia Mason's character on Cashmere Mafia, a small screen film, failed to bring about the positive results. Southland was a critically-acclaimed crime-drama - established Liu's status as a top actress. Liu chooses her roles with utmost care so as to avoid being cast in an industry that is competitive. While she's been embracing her heritage, she hasn't let them limit her as an artist.
