Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is the author of fifteen books and is the cofounder of The Huffington Post. Arianna Huffington, an independently-owned liberal news website has a TV personality, author, and an philanthropist. She moved out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and earned an MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. In her 21st year, she was head of the famous debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student to do so. In the years following her graduation, she was an influential Conservative syndicated journalist. After a few years after that she launched The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current politics. In part, her fame has helped attract a number of famous contributors. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to contest as an independent candidate during the California recall election in order to succeed the then governor Davis. In addition to this she was the leader of the Detroit Project for fuel-efficient cars. Forbes listed her the most powerful woman in media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as in the 12th spot on Forbes' list. The Guardian added her to the list of top 100 media in 2009. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the president of their media company that also includes additional AOL products like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Their parents are Elli as well as Konstantinos Stasinopoulos. They were an expert in management and a journalist. Her character was formed by the closeness she had to her mother and her bond with her dad, despite her being very close to the latter. In her earliest years she displayed leadership qualities that are still highly regarded. She moved to England at sixteen to further her studies and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In her college years, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman president, and also the sole foreign president. In 1972 she graduated with a master's degree in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic and a television host. Alongside Bernard Levin she appeared on the show Face the music.
