Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington, a Greek American businesswoman and syndicated journalist, is also an author. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she moved to England at the age of sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first graduate who was not from the UK to serve as president of The Cambridge Union at the age of 21. Her success as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she completed her studies. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the politics. Arianna was able to attract several prominent contributors who posted their opinions about politics and culture. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood in California's recall vote, in the place of Governor Davis. Additionally, she was involved in the Detroit-based initiative that advocated for cars that are fuel efficient. Her name was voted as the most influential women in media in 2009 by Forbes in 2009, gaining the 12th place in the list. In the same year Guardian listed her among the Top 100 Media List. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post, and she became the president of this group. This included many AOL products at that time, including Engadget AOL style list and Patch Media. She was born to a journalist and manager Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. While she enjoyed a strong connection to both of her parents and father, it was their relationship that helped shape her. She showed leadership traits from the beginning. When she was 16years old, she emigrated from America to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. She joined the Cambridge Union college debate society while in college and was the first woman to serve as the president. In 1972 she received an education in Economics. She became a writer, a critic, a TV host as well as a columnist following her graduation. She appeared alongside Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own novels with his help.
