Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is an Canadian actress from Canada. Paquin is a native of Canada and New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg but brought up in Wellington, she had her first appearance as an actor on screen in The Piano. In this romance film, at the age of the age of 11, Paquin won her second Oscar for Best Actress. As a result of an audition Flora McGrath was cast as the daughter a Scottish musician. Flora McGrath is the child of a mute Scottish musician who moved into New Zealand to marry in the 19th century. As a teenager she emigrated to the United States. Paquin played Jane Eyre's title character as a teenager in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) and her main character for the character in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played a minor role in the TV film of 1997 adaption to Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding. She also played the Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (2007). She played teenage girls in of Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000) as well as the Polexia Aphrodisa groupie on the screen in Almost Famous (2000).
